SUGAR & SPICE GINGERBREAD CHALLENGE

Join us for the 1st Annual Gingerbread Competition to be held at the Griswold Auditorium. It's open to the public and all ages are incouraged to participate! Bring your completed gingerbread house to the challenge for a chance to win!
CATAGORIES Cash Prize & Trophy for First Place in each catagory!
KIDS 6 & UNDER Wins $30! Ribbon for Second & Third Place
YOUTH 7-12 YRS. Wins $40!
TEEN 13-17 YRS. Wins $50!
ADULT 18 & UP Wins $100!
RULES - please read carefully.
1. Every part of the gingerbread house entry, inside and out, must be made of edible materials. Wrappers must be removed. Only the supporting base is permitted to be non-edible and not more than an inch high. (plywood is recommended.)
2. Overall size is limited to 24'' wide by 24'' deep. No limit to height.
3. You must be registered to qualify. A $10.00 non-refundable fee is required to enter.
4. Display space is in catagories but unassigned. All spaces are good however it's first come, first pick.
5. You must deliver your entry to the Griswold Auditorium at 401 Hubbard St, downtown Allegan on Friday, Nov.14: 4-6PM OR Saturday, Nov.15: 7-9AM. No adjustments to the entry may be made after 9AM Saturday.
6. Judging will begin at 9:15AM Saturday morning. Award ceremony will be at 12 Noon. Public viewing will remain open until 2PM, at which time entries must be removed from the premises or they will be disposed of.
7. All rulings by the judges are independent and final and are no way influenced by any contestant entered.
8. Winning entries will be placed in prominent storefront windows throughout downtown until Jan. 3,2009. After which time, it is up to the entry's owners to reclaim the house or it will be disposed of. If you win but do not wish to have your entry displayed, please mark the appropriate space on your entry form.
9. Entry must be the work of the person who is registered.
10. The contest is open to everyone.
11. Kits may be used if parts are edible.
12. Deadline to get your application in is Thursday; November 13.
